The following are instructions for installing the various software files in the download software list. 1. File Descriptions TapeManager Release TapeManager_9.069W.CON - this is the full TapeManager release in an MCP container file. (see section 3) TapeManager Release TapeManager_9.069W.ZIP - this is the full TapeManager release in an MCP container file that has also been zipped. Unzip this file to the MCP container file. (see section 3) TAPEMANAGER.ISO - this is the full TapeManager release in a CD image format. (see section 2) TAPEMANAGERDOCS.ISO - this is the TapeManager manuals in a CD image. NOTE: These manuals are also contained in the full TapeManager release files above. They are in Windows format and can be read from a Windows system. 2. Installing TapeManager ISO image A. After downloading the ISO image, burn to a CD or mount the ISO image on the system being installed on. If you are burning a CD image from the ISO please remember this is an MCP CD image and not all burning programs will work. For Windows systems Nero has been shown to burn correctly while Roxio has not produced usable CDs. Other software that you might use is ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com/) (Windows) InfraRecorder (http://infrarecorder.sourceforge.net/) (Windows) To mount the ISO image on the ClearPath MCP system TapeManager is being installed on please refer to the TAPEMANAGER QUICK START FOR NEW INSTALLATIONS - PDF (which downloads as QCKSTRTN.pdf) and follow the instructions given in Appendix A - Mounting a TapeManager ISO image on a ClearPath MCP Software Series. B. Load the burned CD into the MCP CD drive on the host to install or if the ISO was mounted it is already visible. C. If this is a new install, copy the install WFL: COPY *ALL/EXAMPLE/WFL/INSTALL AS (TM)WFL/INSTALL FROM TAPEMANAGER(CD) TO TMFAM(PACK) START (TM)WFL/INSTALL("TMFAM","TM","TMFAM","AUTO") ON TMFAM "TM", "TMFAM" are examples. Any names can be used. The parameters are "source", "usercode", "familyname", and "otherstuff". See the TapeManager Operations Guide for additional installation information. D. For pre-existing installations, 1) Backup the TapeManager system (TM DB BACKUP TO DISK), then 2) TM INSTALL ALL then 3) From ODT SEND TM START 3. Installing TapeManager from MCP container (CON) A. If you choose the smaller PKZip archive, unzip the container file with your zip utility. B. Upload the container to a share on your MCP host. If you have an installed TapeManager on that machine, there will be a share called "TAPEMANAGER" which maps to the TAPEMANAGER directory of your TapeManager install family (and usercode, if the install included a usercode). C. If this is a new install, unwrap the install WFL: UNWRAP *ALL/EXAMPLE/WFL/INSTALL AS (TM)WFL/INSTALL OUTOF "TAPEMANAGER_9.069W.CON" TO TMFAM Note: The name of the .CON file was converted to all uppercase by the MCP START (TM)WFL/INSTALL("TMFAM","TM","TMFAM","AUTO") ON TMFAM "TM", and "TMFAM" are examples. Any names can be used. See the TapeManager Operations Guide for additional installation information. D. For pre-existing installations, 1) Backup the TapeManager system (TM DB BACKUP TO DISK), then 2) TM INSTALL ALL IN (TM)"TAPEMANAGER_9.069W.CON" These are simplified instructions meant for experienced users.
